Connecticut Whale News Release
The Wolf Pack won three out of four games this week, and finished it just a single point out of second place in the Atlantic Division. The Pack snapped a three-game losing streak with a 6-4 victory at home Wednesday over Syracuse, and downed the first-place Portland Pirates Friday by a score of 5-2 at the Hartford Civic Center, on "Whalers Appreciation Night". The team then hit the road and scored a 5-1 Saturday-night win in Manchester, before dropping a 5-3 decision to the Pirates in a rematch at Portland on Sunday.
Chad Wiseman and Jarkko Immonen (4-3-7 each) led the way offensively for the Wolf Pack during the week, and defenseman Joe Rullier chipped in with 1-5-6. The crowd of 12,206 Friday was the Wolf Pack's largest home attendance since they drew 12,513 October 7, 2000, their home opener that season, and the fifth-best home-ice throng in team history.
This week:
The Wolf Pack attempt to keep their perfect (5-0-0-0) GEICO Connecticut Cup record intact in a visit to Bridgeport on Wednesday (7:35). Two home games follow that, as Hershey makes its lone regular season visit to the Hartford Civic Center Friday (7:00) on Guida's Family Value Night, and the Portland Pirates invade the Civic Center again on Saturday (7:00). That game is Scout Sleepover night, featuring a Wolf Pack team pennant giveaway to all fans at the game.
