Team Notes

- The Bulldogs' current three-game winning streak matches their season-high set from November 9-12.

- Hamilton established a new season-high for consecutive home wins when they won their fourth straight game at Copps Coliseum on Saturday, January 7, defeating the Manitoba Moose by a score of 3-2.

- The Bulldogs scored two shorthanded goals in one game for the first time this season as LW Lucas Lawson and C Marc-Antoine Pouliot each had a goal with the ‘Dogs on the penalty kill in Hamilton's 4-1 victory over the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday, January 4. The two shorthanded markers brought Hamilton's total to eight on the season, which has them in a tie for fourth in the AHL.

Player Notes

- G Yann Danis was a perfect 3-0-0-0 last week, allowing just five goals (1.67 goals-against average) on 103 shots (0.951 save percentage).

- LW Lucas Lawson became the first Bulldog to score on a penalty shot at home when he beat Griffins goaltender Joey MacDonald in the first period of Hamilton's 4-1 victory over Grand Rapids on Wednesday, January 4. It was Lawson's first goal as a Bulldog and his second point in as many games.

- C Marc-Antoine Pouliot recorded one goal and one assist against the Griffins on Wednesday. It was Pouliot's first multipoint game since December 10.

- C Maxim Lapierre scored his first goal in 10 games when he potted the game-winner against Grand Rapids.

- C Corey Locke scored his first goal in 10 games on Friday, January 6 as Hamilton defeated Peoria 2-1 in a shootout.

- D James Sanford scored in the shootout against the Rivermen, and has now scored on all five of his shootout attempts with the Bulldogs.

- D Johnathan Aitken scored his first goal of the season on Saturday, January 7 in the Bulldogs' 3-2 win over the Manitoba Moose.

- LW Jean-Francois Jacques posted one goal and one assist against Manitoba on Saturday. It was Jacques' first multipoint game since November 29.

- LW Peter Vandermeer scored the game-winning goal against the Moose. Two of Vandermeer's three goals this season have been game-winners, and he is now tied with Francis Lemieux, Corey Locke, and Marc-Antoine Pouliot for the team lead in that category.

- RW Alexander Perezhogin recorded his first point, an assist, against Manitoba since being assigned to Hamilton by the Montreal Canadiens.

- D Mathieu Roy has collected six points (1g,5a) in his last four games.

- The Bulldogs will battle the Crunch for the fifth time this season, and the fourth and final time at Copps Coliseum.

- Syracuse is in third place in the North Division with 45 points.

- Hamilton has a record of 2-2-0-0 against Syracuse so far in 2005-06, with one victory coming in a shootout.

- In their last meeting on December 27, Crunch forward Mark Hartigan scored a hat trick as Syracuse doubled Hamilton 4-2.

- D Andy Delmore leads the Crunch in scoring with 35 points (6g,29a) and ranks first among league defenseman in scoring.

- Syracuse C Ben Simon is tied for second in the league with three shorthanded goals.

- These games will be the fifth and sixth meetings of the season between these two teams.

- The Americans sit fifth in the North Division with 40 points.

- Rochester leads the season series with a record of 3-1-0-0.

- Hamilton earned their first victory of the season over Rochester the last time these teams met on December 29. Michael Lambert and Mathieu Roy each collected one goal and two assists, while netminder Yann Danis stopped 19 shots in Hamilton's 4-1 win.

- The Amerks own the AHL's best power play, which is currently operating at 22.4% (57 goals on 255 opportunities).

- Rochester D Nathan Paetsch is tied for second among AHL blueliners with 31 points (5g,26a).
