WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Washington Capitals have assigned forward Boyd Kane to HERSHEY of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Kane, 27, was recalled to Washington Jan. 3 and played each of the last three games for the Capitals. He has 11 goals and 14 assists (25 points) through 36 games in Hershey, ranking fifth on the Bears in goals and tied for sixth in points. A 6'2", 227-pound native of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Kane was signed as a free agent on Aug. 12, 2005.

The BEARS continue a four-game road trip Wednesday night in Springfield against the Falcons at 7:05 p.m. before playing in Hartford Friday night at 7:00 p.m. HERSHEY will host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. and the Norfolk Admirals this Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available through the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 508-BEAR.
