The Monarchs (40-21-3-2) lost, 5-3, to the Thunder (38-22-3-4) and had their seven-game winning streak snapped.
The Thunder opened the scoring on the power play at 18:18 of the first period on the 1st goal of the season by Ryan Schmelzer. Mike Bergin found Schmelzer in the right-wing circle, where he collected the puck from his skates and let off a wrister, over the blocker of Monarchs goaltender, Charles Williams, to make the score, 1-0.
The Thunder extended their lead at 3:00 of the second period on the 24th goal of the season by Kenton Miller. Miller skated with puck through the neutral zone, all the way to the goal line, where along the crease, he put a shot over the blocker, to the far post of Williams, to make the score, 2-0.
The Monarchs bounced back at 5:11 of the second period on the 8th goal of the season by Ashton Rome. Michael Doherty took a shot from the slot, where at the top of the paint, Rome pushed the puck, one handed, past Thunder goaltender, Drew Fielding, to make the score, 2-1.

Adirondack took a three-goal lead at 13:42 of the second period on the 17th goal of the season, 2nd goal of the night by Conacher. Inside the left-wing circle, Bourke faked a slap shot and passed to Conacher, who was wide open at the side of the crease and beat Williams glove side, to make the score, 4-1.
The Thunder continued to power past the Monarchs with a goal at 16:15 of the second period on the 8th goal of the season by Bourke. From the blue line, Bergin fed the puck to Bourke at the top of the left-wing circle, where he skated to the face-off dot and let a wrist shot fly top shelf, over the glove of Williams, to make the score, 5-1.
The Monarchs cut into the Thunder lead with a goal at 6:49 of the third period on the 1st goal of the season by Jared Kolquist. Matt Schmalz found Kolquist at the top of the right circle where he put a wrist shot past the blocker of Fielding, to make the score, 5-2.
