Nagy Buzzer-Beater Gives Mallards 2-1 Win in Tulsa
March 24, 2018 - ECHL (ECHL)
Quad City Mallards News Release
TULSA, Okla. - Gergo Nagy scored with two seconds left in regulation to give the Quad City Mallards (22-40-4) a buzzer-beating 2-1 victory over the host Tulsa Oilers (29-26-11) Saturday night.
Nagy rifled in an Alex Globke feed from the left wing circle to provide victory for the Mallards just when it seemed certain the game would go to overtime.
Nagy responded with the dramatic winner after the Oilers' Adam Pleskach tied the game by beating Mallard goaltender Eric Hartzell- who turned in a superb 41-save effort- for the first time on a wraparound at 10:25 of the third period.
The Mallards had first moved in front when Dmitry Osipov's blueline blast broke a scoreless deadlock at 15:21 of the second period.
The Mallards and Oilers meet again tomorrow in Tulsa. The Mallards next play at home Wednesday night, April 4 at 6:35 p.m. against the Rapid City Rush. All seats for the April 4 game are available for just $5.
Tickets for the April 4 game- and all remaining Mallards regular season home games- are also now on sale at the TaxSlayer Center box office, Ticketmaster toll free charge-by-phone (1-800-745-3000) and ticketmaster.com. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
