Last Night

Jamie Tardif scored twice and C.J. Motte made 40 saves as the Mallards defeated the host Oilers 3-2.

Tripleheader

Tonight's game is the second of three in 48 hours between the Mallards and Oilers in Tulsa. The two clubs meet again tomorrow afternoon.

The Mallards last night snapped a team record-setting eight-game regulation losing streak. Last night's victory was the Mallards' first since they defeated the Utah Grizzlies 7-6 in a shootout on March 2.

Regulation

Last night's win was the Mallards' first in regulation in 13 games since they edged the Toledo Walleye 4-3 on February 18.

On the Road

The Mallards last night halted a team record-tying nine game road regulation losing streak. Last night's victory was the Mallards' first on the road since they defeated the Wings 4-3 in Kalamazoo on February 14. The Mallards first endured nine straight regulation setbacks on the road between December 8 and January 6.

The Mallards' last three wins have all been one-goal victories.

Front Runner

The Mallards never trailed in last night's game. The Mallards first took the lead ten minutes, 40 seconds into the first period with an Alex Globke goal.

The Mallards have suffered three straight home regulation losses for the first time this season.

The Mallards last night allowed just two goals for the first time in 22 games since defeating Kalamazoo 6-2 on February 2. The Mallards held Tulsa to a pair last night after surrendering an average 5.2 goals (68 total) over their prior 13 games.

The Mallards won last night after setting club single season records for regulation losses (40) and away regulation defeats (25) by dropping their previous game 8-0 to the Mavericks Sunday in Kansas City.

Double Down

Tardif last night provided both a tie-breaking goal in the second period and, in the third period, what proved to be the game winner. Tardif has scored three goals in his last two games and has recorded four points (three goals and one assist) in his last three games.

Helping Hand

After picking up two assists last night, Willie Raskob is now tied for second among ECHL rookies and ranks fifth among defensemen in assists (32).

Deuce

Ryan McGrath also collected two assists last night.

Between the Pipes

Motte last night made 31 saves over just the first two periods while earning the win in his fourth straight start since returning to the Mallards from the American Hockey League's Stockton Heat on March 13.

Red Light District

The Mallards rank twenty-sixth in the ECHL in goals scored per game (2.7) and twenty-seventh in goals allowed per game (4.2).

Outside the Box

The Mallards are the second least penalized team in the ECHL. They average 9.8 minutes in the box per game.

Special Teams

The Mallards went 0-for-5 on the power play last night while the Oilers' went 1-for-6. The Mallards have gone 0-for-8 on the man advantage over their last two games. The Mallards last night killed off Tulsa's first five advantages before Steven Kaunisto scored with just eight seconds left on a 6-on-4 after the Oilers pulled goaltender Jake Hildebrand while on the power play. The Mallards are tied for seventeenth in the ECHL on the power play (16.7 percent) and rank twenty-fifth in penalty killing (77.4 percent).

Head to Head

The Mallards have won three of their first four meetings with the Oilers. Tomorrow's game is the finale of the season series between the two clubs. The Mallards last night made their first appearance at the BOK Center in better than two years since they defeated the Oilers 4-3 in overtime on February 13, 2016. All-time, the Mallards have gone 20-15-0 against Tulsa overall and 6-7-0 at the BOK Center.
