Miscues Leave Door Open for Durham's Late Surge

August 6, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Indianapolis Indians News Release

DURHAM, NC -- Corey Brown turned a 2-1 pitch into a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning to complete a four-run comeback that propelled the Durham Bulls past the Indianapolis Indians, 8-5, Thursday night at DBAP.

Alen Hanson misplayed a ball with two outs in the fifth inning to leave the door open for three unearned runs during Durham's first surge.

Tribe reliever AJ Morris walked the bases loaded one inning later, and after working ahead of Brown on a 2-1 count, left his 2-1 offering over the plate for Brown to rip down the right-field line to score Joey Rickard and Jake Elmore.

Top prospect Tyler Glasnow both walked and struck out six during his 4 2/3-inning start. He stranded a runner in scoring position in each of the first three frames to escape with only one of his four scores going as an earned run.

Elias Diaz finished 3-for-4 with an RBI triple. Keon Broxton singled and drew two walks to extend his on-base streak to 30 games, just seven shy of the longest stretch in the IL this season.
