Greenville Grrrowl News Release

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Grrrowl announced today that goaltender MIKE MORRISON has been reassigned to the Grrrowl from the Edmonton Oilers. In a separate transaction, goalie SCOTT DELLA VEDOVA was placed on waivers.

Morrison comes to Greenville directly from the Edmonton Oilers, where he served as a backup for the NHL club during the first week of the NHL season. Last year, the 6-3, 203-pounder played in 26 games for the Grrrowl, while also spending significant time with Greenville's AHL affiliate, the Edmonton Road Runners. Morrison posted a 2.74 goals against, while notching a shutout and a 13-10-2 record in Greenville last season.

Morrison becomes the third player assigned to Greenville from the Oilers organization this season. Edmonton prospects Brock Radunske and Kenny Smith, who spent time in Greenville last season, are back on the Grrrowl roster as the team prepares for its 8th season in the ECHL. Greenville will host an exhibition game against the South Carolina Stingrays tonight at the BI-LO Center, with the puck dropping at 7:05 p.m. There is no charge for admission to tonight's game.
