Lynx pare down roster by five

October 14, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release

Continuing to prepare for the opening of the 2005-06 ECHL Season, the Augusta Lynx trimmed their roster by five players today.

Goaltender Chris Levesque, defensemen Ryan Thrussell and Chris Pedota, plus forwards Chris Chaput and Rich Hansen were released by the team after Thursday's pre-season game against the Grrrowl. Levesque recorded four saves in one period of work against the Grrrowl Thursday, while Chaput recorded a goal in the contest.

The moves leave Augusta with 24 skaters and two goaltenders in camp, with the team looking to whittle down to approximately 20 players before opening night.

Augusta will continue their pre-season schedule against the South Carolina Stingrays on Saturday at the Carolina Ice Palace before heading to Columbia to battle the Inferno at 7 pm on Tuesday. That game will be free of charge for all who attend, with donations accepted by the Inferno for the American Red Cross.
