Toledo Walleye News Release
(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that they have reached an agreement with Buckeye Cable Sports Network to tape-delay the broadcast of the Toledo Storm home contest Wednesday March 17, 2004.
Vice President and General Manager Mike Miller stated, "This is a great night for the city of Toledo with Mike Eruzione in town. I am very pleased that BCSN will be here that night to televise the game, and I hope this is another step in our relationship. This is another chance for us to expose our great game to new audiences on a night when a true hockey hero Mike Eruzione is in town."
Wednesday March 17th is Mike Eruzione night with a special start time of 7:30pm. The 1980 USA Olympian and former Toledo Goaldigger will be making an appearance at the Toledo Sports Arena. The Toledo Storm players will be wearing special Goaldigger jerseys that night. The game features the Toledo Storm taking on the Reading Royals and will mark the second contest televised by BCSN. The network, which specializes in covering local sports, also covered the Toledo Storm's February 20th contest. That game was the first professional game televised by the network.
Matt Melzak will handle the play-by-play duties for the game. Mark Deazeley, member of the 1992-93 and 1993-94 Toledo Storm Riley Cup championship teams, will join Matt Melzak for the game broadcast. Andy Senzotta will handle the radio broadcast.
