IceGators announce "Tickets for the Tenth"
March 10, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Louisiana IceGators News Release
Lafayette, LA â The Louisiana IceGators announced today they are starting a season ticket drive for the 2004-05 season. The ticket campaign, entitled "Tickets for the Tenth," is designed to help the franchise increase the number of season tickets sold for IceGators hockey. The initial goal of the campaign is to secure 1000 season ticket deposits by May 1, 2004.
Season ticket packages for 2004-05 include full season (36 games) and partial season packages. Deposits for the season tickets are $25 per seat. Fans purchasing a 12-game playoff package may use any remaining balance from any unused playoff tickets as a deposit on their 2004-05 season ticket package.
"Last season we got a late start selling season tickets because of the change in ownership and management. We believe that by reaching the 1000 ticket total by May 1st, we will be able to focus our efforts on increasing this number throughout the summer and fall months, so we can exceed our goals for the season," said IceGators General Manager Brian Kelley.
In an effort to create the loudest building in the ECHL and to bring the fans closer to the action, 300-level seating will not be available for the 2004-05 season of IceGators hockey. To accommodate those season ticket holders who will have to move from the 300-level, new seats anywhere in the 200-level will be the same price as their current 300-level seats. Approximately 4700 seats will comprise the new seating configuration.
The IceGators also are keeping the season ticket package prices from last year, with one change: rinkside seating will be the same price as the 100-level. Rinkside and 100-level seats will be offered for $468 for adults and $225 for kids (aged 2 â 12). 200-level seats will be $387 for adults and $225 for kids (aged 2 â 12). Kids under two who do not require a seat will no longer need a ticket or "Buddy Pass."
IceGators owner John Lingo emphasized the importance of building a solid foundation of season ticket holders and the desire of the ownership group to keep hockey in Acadiana.
"Season tickets, whether full season, partial season or ticket vouchers, are the lifeblood of any professional sports franchise. A solid increase in season tickets is the first step in keeping this franchise around for a long, long time," Lingo said.
