Greensboro Generals News Release
GREENSBORO â The Greensboro Generals have 13 games remaining in the 2003-04 ECHL regular season, and a recent acquisition from the Bakersfield Condors, in the form of defenseman Randy Perry will be on board for the playoff run. Perry's rights were acquired as part of a deal for Tom Reimann on February 27th. Since that time, Perry has been with the AHL's Manchester Monarchs, along with another Generals call-up Sam Ftorek.
Perry (6-1, 200 lbs.) has appeared in 22 games for the Condors this season, registering one goal, six assists, for a total of seven points. Defensively Perry has 48 penalty minutes in his ECHL ice time. While with Manchester, who is currently in second place in the AHL's Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference, Perry has appeared in 22 games, with one goal, five assists, totaling six points and 10 penalty minutes.
As for Reimann, the Generals lone All-Star selection leaves the team after a stint on the injured reserve list. Reimann appeared in 43 games for Greensboro, where he scored 11 goals, five of which came on the power-play, along with 22 assists (33 points). Defensively, Reimann has recorded 71 penalty minutes, during his rookie campaign in the ECHL.
"He is a great player, and provides stability both on the ice and in the locker room, which is something that speaks volumes about him. On the ice he is a solid defenseman and in the in dressing room he is great to be around. If he ends up in Greensboro, he will make it better on and off the ice for the team. I think a guy like Perry is important when you are trying to win a championship because you try get good players both on and off the ice," Sam Ftorek said of his teammate in a phone interview.
