Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Major league rehabber Yoshi Tsutsugo went 3-for-3 but the Indianapolis Indians dropped Game 3 of the six-game series against the Memphis Redbirds on Thursday night, 4-3.

In a battle of pitching staffs, Indians (34-33) pitching surrendered 12 walks in the loss, their most since matching Sept. 1, 2015 at Columbus. Memphis (39-30) then countered with 14 strikeouts, Indy's most at Victory Field this season.

Down 2-0 after the Redbirds' first two offensive innings, the Indians came to the plate and scored three runs in the bottom of the second to take the lead. Following a leadoff single by Rodolfo Castro, Travis Swaggerty put the Indians on the board with an RBI double. A sacrifice fly and run-scoring groundout gave Indy the lead.

Memphis tied the game with an RBI single off the bat of Connor Capel in the top of the fourth inning, and the score remained knotted until the eighth. Following a one-out walk, Alec Burleson doubled off Cristofer Melendez (L, 2-4) to plate the game-winning run.

Blake Parker (W, 1-2) earned the win with three strikeouts in 1.2 innings pitched. Jacob Bosiokovic (S, 3) fanned two in the final offensive inning for the Indians.

The Indians will look for the win and to clinch at least a series split tomorrow night at 7:05 PM ET vs. the Redbirds. RHP Aaron Brooks (3-3, 7.47) will take the mound for the visitors, while Indy has yet to name a starter.
