Redbirds Roar Ahead Late to Take Game Three in Indianapolis

MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds took game three of a six-game series against the Indianapolis Indians on Thursday night by a final score of 4-3.

Left fielder Alec Burleson came up clutch in the eighth inning with a game-winning RBI double to score right fielder Conner Capel to put Memphis up 4-3. The duo totaled a 4-for-6 six night with four walks, three RBI and a run scored. Capel also gunned down a runner at the plate with a throw from right field in the bottom of the sixth to keep the score tied at three.

Third baseman Delvin Perez also broke out in his second Triple-A game. The right-handed hitter slapped two hits, walked once and scored twice to aide Memphis to victory.

On the hill, Tommy Parsons finished strong, retiring the last six batters he faced and registered four of his five strikeouts in that span. Parsons lasted 4.0 innings and allowed three runs, all in the second inning. Reliever Blake Parker (1-2) earned his first win of the season while Jacob Bosiokovic tallied his third save.

The Memphis Redbirds (39-30) return to Victory Field to continue a six-game series against the Indianapolis Indians on Friday, June 24 for a 6:05 p.m. CDT first pitch.
