The Mavericks begin a four-game week in Mississippi on Tuesday night. Missouri has yet to defeat the RiverKings in three tries this season. The second and third period are where the RiverKings have done their damage against the Mavericks outscoring Missouri 10-2 combined in those two periods. Mavericks' forward Mike Berry leads the team in scoring against the RiverKings with four points on a goal and three assists in three games vs. Mississippi. Tuesday's game is the fourth of five outings between the teams this season. Missouri will host the final game of the season series on March 20.

Missouri takes on the Colorado Eagles with three games in three days. The Mavericks will host the Eagles on Friday night at Independence Events Center and the game will be televised on Time Warner Cable's Metro Sports. Both teams will then head back to Colorado for a pair of games at Budweiser Events Center on Saturday and Sunday. Missouri's late comeback effort against the Eagles this past week fell just short as the Eagles defeated the Mavericks, 4-2, on Wednesday night in Loveland, CO. Missouri is 2-2-0 against the Eagles this season, but the Eagles have won the last two games. The Mavericks and Eagles have been evenly matched this season with each team scoring 12 goals in the series respectively. The Eagles are one of the hottest teams in the CHL right now having won seven straight games.

Notes
Trade Deadline - The CHL's trade deadline is today, Monday, February 7. The Mavericks made a trade this past week sending forward Sean Muncy to the Texas Brahmas in exchange for Todd Griffith and Steven Later.
New players - Forward Todd Griffith will take to the ice tomorrow night in Mississippi wearing a Mavericks uniform for the first time. The fifth-year pro has 168 points (89-79168) in 217 games over his pro career. The Mavericks also acquired sixth-year defenseman Steven Later who has accumulated 1,045 penalty minutes and 140 points (44-96-140) in 268 games played.
Road tests - The Mavericks will play seven of their final 10 games in the month of February on the road. Missouri is in Mississippi Tuesday night and Colorado for two straight games this weekend. The Mavs will also travel to Tulsa, Evansville and Rapid City before the end of February. In total, Missouri has 24 games remaining on their schedule and 14 of those games will be on the road.

Ladies Hockey 101 - The Mavericks, Bolero Salon & Spa and Rib Crib are hosting the annual Ladies Hockey 101 night at Independence Events Center this Tuesday, February 9 at 6 p.m. Space is still available by calling the Mavericks front office at (816) 252-7825.
Kennedy's Jewelers Diamond Giveaway - Kennedy's Custom Jewelers will be giving away a one-carat diamond valued at $2,500 at the Mavericks home game this Friday, February 11. The first 1,000 ladies in attendance will receive a one-carat cubic zurconia, and one lucky lady will win the real diamond. Ladies must then check to see if they have the real diamond by stopping by Kennedy's Custom Jewelers located at 900 SW State Route 7 Highway in Blue Springs. Kennedy's will offer ladies the opportunity to have their cubic zurconia mounted into a ring (10k white or yellow gold) for $200, earrings (14k white or yellow gold) for $175 or pendant (white or yellow gold) for $75. Every 10th customer will also receive a small gift courtesy of Kennedy's.
