SOUTHAVEN, MS --- Mississippi RiverKings forward R.G. Flath wants fans to know he ‚¬â„¢s serious about fighting cancer - so serious he ‚¬â„¢s willing to shave his head.

Flath is challenging RiverKings fans to help him raise $2,500 by Sunday, February 13, to benefit the DeSoto County Relay For Life and American Cancer Society. The money raised will stay in the local area to help those fighting cancer here, as well as fund research.

Upon reaching that monetary goal, Flath will allow the fan who donates the largest amount, to cut his golden locks.

"This cause is such a good one, I ‚¬â„¢m more than happy to shave off my hair to help raise awareness and money, and to honor those in our RiverKings family fighting cancer," Flath said. "If everyone at this week ‚¬â„¢s games would donate even just one dollar, we ‚¬â„¢d easily raise $2,500."

RiverKings fans can begin donating at the Tuesday, February 8 home game against the Missouri Mavericks. Just stop by the RiverKings With A Cause Table outside of section 118 on the concourse to make a donation.

Sunday ‚¬â„¢s RiverKings game spotlights the DeSoto County Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society. A game-worn jersey auction will follow the game, with proceeds benefiting cancer research and support in the North Mississippi and greater Memphis communities. Earnings from the jersey auction will be split with the Jr. StreetKings youth roller hockey league and Hernando Youth Sports in honor of the the RiverKings ‚¬â„¢ continuing commitment to youth sports.
