SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League (CHL) have four games on its schedule entering the first full week of February this week. The RiverKings (22-21-2) host the Missouri Mavericks on Tuesday, February 7th at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, beginning at 7:05 PM. From there, the RiverKings take to the road and Bloomington, Illinois to play the PrairieThunder on Friday, February 11th at 7:05 PM, followed by a match up with the Tulsa Oilers on Saturday, February 12th at 7:35 PM, and a quick return home to meet the Wichita Thunder at the DeSoto Civic Center on Sunday, February 13th, for a contest that starts at 3:05 PM.

RIVERKINGS RECAP: Mississippi split a pair of games with the Tulsa Oilers this past weekend, defeating the Oilers 4-3 in overtime Friday night, followed by a 5-3 loss to Tulsa on Saturday evening, both at the DeSoto Civic Center. On Friday night, Louis Dumont (PPG), Brennan Sarazin, Nathan Lutz (PPG) scored in regulation time. Chris Auger provided the game-winning goal with 38 seconds remaining in overtime to for final result. Saturday, Mississippi took a 3-0 lead in the first period, but allowed the next five straight goals in the loss. R.G. Flath, Sarazin, and Darrell Stoddard (PPG) netted first period goals. Alexander Pechurskiy made 22 saves in earning his 11th victory of the season in goal for the RiverKings on Friday night. Larry Sterling was tagged for five goals and 16 saves in Saturday ‚¬â„¢s loss.

GETTING THE BAGS PACKED AGAIN: Tuesday ‚¬â„¢s game against Missouri will be the final game in the RiverKings ‚¬â„¢ nine-game home stand, which has resulted in a 4-3-1 record thus far. After tonight, Mississippi will not be home any longer than for two consecutive games and will not have anything past a three-game road trip to Arizona the first week of March.

RIVERKINGS SPECIAL TEAMS: Mississippi enters the week ranked 12th in the CHL for power play success at 16.92%. Last weekend, the RiverKings scored three times on the power play in 14 opportunities. Mississippi has now scored power play goals in each of its last five games, the first streak of its type since the beginning of the season. The two power play goals scored by the RiverKings on Friday night against Tulsa is marked the first time Mississippi had scored more than one PPG in a game since going 2-for-4 in a 5-3 victory at Evansville on January 15th.

On the penalty kill, Mississippi is ranked ninth in the CHL at 83.27%. Last weekend, the RiverKings stopped 11 of 13 power play chances given Tulsa; opponents have now scored power play goals in the RiverKings ‚¬â„¢ last three contests.

Mississippi is tied for the league lead for shorthanded goals scored with 11 and has allowed eight shorthanded tallies to its opponents.

PLAYER NOTES: R.G. Flath scored a goal and added an assist on Saturday night in his 200th career professional hockey game. All 200 appearances have been played in the CHL, 45 this season with the RiverKings. Brennan Sarazin scored goals in both games this weekend, given him five for the year in 19 appearances. The native of Nepean, Ontario has earned four points in his last four games. Darrell Stoddard netted the RiverKings ‚¬â„¢ third goal Saturday night against Tulsa and has now scored goals in three of his last four games. Stoddard also has points in five of his last six contests with Friday ‚¬â„¢s win over Tulsa being the only game he ‚¬â„¢s been shut off the score sheet. Louis Dumont has earned points in his last four games, including an assist in Saturday ‚¬â„¢s loss to Tulsa. Louis is tied for the CHL lead in shorthanded goals scored with four and has scored three shootout goals this year. Dumont is on target to play in his 300th RiverKings game on Saturday night in Tulsa. Chris Auger collected a pair of assists in Saturday ‚¬â„¢s contest and finished with four points in two games against the Oilers, including the overtime game-winning goal in Friday ‚¬â„¢s victory. Auger has earned points in six of the RiverKings last seven games. Three of the six games have been two-point performances, including a two-goal performance in the January 25th Face Off Field Trip game against Bloomington, his only two-goal effort of the season. He leads CHL rookies in shorthanded goals scored with three and is third in rookie plus-minus at +9. Derek Landmesser has scored six points in his last four games, all assists. Landmesser had two assist efforts in both games last weekend against Tulsa. Defenseman Russell Smith played his 200th career professional game on Friday night against Tulsa. 56 of t hat total have been in the CHL and 45 have been with the RiverKings. He is fifth in the CHL for minor penalties taken with 36. Jeff Christian is targeted to play in his 1300th career professional contest on Friday night in Bloomington. Christian has played in 18 National Hockey League games and 345 games have been in the Central Hockey League.

TEAM NOTES: Mississippi is 8-0-0 in home games when leading after two periods, but is winless on the road when trailing after forty minutes (0-10-0).
