
Maund leads P-Bruins to victory

The Providence Bruins fought their way to a 3-1 victory in a pivotal East Division battle with the Springfield Falcons on Friday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The win improved the Black and Gold's record to 34-29-8-4 (80 points). The Bruins rank ninth in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Providence goaltender Jeff Maund turned in a stellar 33-save performance and improved his record to 10-11-2. Maund is now unbeaten in his last six starts (5-0-1).
Bruin center/right wing Andy Hilbert, who was named on Thursday to the AHL All-Rookie Team, tallied the game-winning goal late in the second period. The former University of Michigan star leads the team with 25-27-52 totals in 67 games. Defenseman Martin Wilde (2) and center Ben Stafford (4) also scored, while defenseman Jonathan Girard had two assists.
The Bruins visit the Worcester IceCats on Saturday night at 7:35 p.m. All the action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550 and online at www.providencebruins.com.
The Bruins return home for their final home game of the 2001-02 regular season on Friday, April 5th at 7:05 p.m. to host the Hartford Wolf Pack in an East Division battle.
