
Crunch Sign Jack Baker & Randy Murphy

Syracuse, NY (March 29, 2002) - The Syracuse Crunch announced that they signed center Randy Murphy to a professional try-out contract and right wing Jack Baker to an amateur try-out contract.
Baker, 21, appeared in 38 games for Boston University (HE), recording 15 goals, 13 assists and 63 penalty minutes. A 5-foot-7, 168 pound native of Boston, Massachusetts, Baker finished second on the Boston University 2001-2002 team in goals and points.
Murphy, 29, has appeared in 68 games this season with Elmira (UHL), recording 22 goals, 47 assists and 69 penalty minutes. A 5-foot-7, 170 pound native of Mississauga, Ontario, Murphy is second on Elmira with 69 points.
The Crunch travels to Rochester tonight for a 7:30 p.m. game. Crunch action can be heard on SportsRadio 620 with play-by-play announcer Bob McElligott. Syracuse returns to action at home on Wednesday, April 3, when they host the Rochester Americans.
