WHAT'S ON TAP:
Lowell can wrap up the North Division title with a win in Worcester tonight (7:35 ET). It would be the second division crown in the Lock Monsters' four-year existence, and their first since 1999. Lowell has won six in a row, and Ted Drury has tallied the game-winning goal in three of those victories. Jean-Marc Pelletier is 7-1-1 with a 1.53 GAA in net for the Lock Monsters since his participation in the 2002 AHL All-Star Classic. The Calder Cup 2002 Tour then hits the Tsongas Arena on Saturday when Lowell hosts Quebec (7:00 ET). Syracuse and Rochester get together tonight (7:35 ET) at the Blue Cross Arena for their 86th all-time regular season meeting, and the Crunch have a chance to clinch the first division title in the franchise's eight-year history. The Amerks' Chris Taylor leads all scorers in this season's head-to-head series with nine points in nine games, but it's Syracuse that owns the 4-2-3 edge. Crunch goalie J-F. Labbe led Hartford to a six-game win over Rochester in the 2000 Calder Cup Finals. Grand Rapids finishes its 40-game home schedule on Saturday night when Rochester comes to town (7:30 ET). The Griffins have allowed 75 goals in 39 home games, meaning the Amerks need to score nine times to preserve their own AHL record low of 83, established last season. Grand Rapids is also bidding to break Rochester's AHL record of 176 goals allowed in an 80-game season; the Griffs have given up 164 with six games remaining. The Hershey Bears look to continue their revitalization with an Easter weekend series in Cincinnati, Saturday (7:35 ET) and Sunday (3:05). Hershey enters the weekend with a mark of 18-2-2-2 in its last 24 games, a streak that immediately followed an 0-12-2-2 winless skid. The Bears have won seven straight and are 9-0-1 in their last 10, and Philippe Sauve is a perfect 8-0-0 between the pipes in March. (all times local)
