
Labbe Named to 2002 AHL Second All-Star Team

Syracuse, NY (March 29, 2002) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that Crunch goaltender Jean-Francois Labbe was named to the 2002 AHL Second All-Star Team.
Labbe has appeared in 46 games with the Crunch this season, posting a 22-16-7 record with an AHL fifth-best 2.30 goals against average, a .924 save percentage and an AHL leading seven shutouts. He is the first goaltender in 32 years to record seven shutouts in a season.
A two-time Calder Cup champion, the league's MVP (and a First Team All-Star) in 1997 and one of six AHL goaltenders to score a goal, Labbe recorded his first National Hockey League win on March 11 against Pittsburgh.
Labbe is the third player in franchise history to be named to a post-season All-Star Team (Michael Gaul - Second Team 2000-01, Radim Bicanek - Second Team 2000-01).
