SAN ANTONIO RAMPAGE

The Marlies play their third and final home game of the season at Toronto's Air Canada Centre on Thursday evening when they host the San Antonio Rampage - AHL affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes - live on Leafs TV at 7:30 p.m. Thursday's contest marks the first home game for Toronto since a 3-0 setback at the hands of the Iowa Stars on January 6 at Ricoh Coliseum. The Marlies emerged from a season-high seven game road trip with a 3-4-0 record following two wins at Chicago and one at Iowa inside of the last two weeks. Two one goal setbacks at Milwaukee were the difference in attaining a .500 record. Despite falling at Omaha and Peoria earlier in the trip, the Marlies returned home with a 14-10-0-2 record away from Toronto this season. They attempt to win their first of the season at ACC before departing for Grand Rapids on Friday afternoon. San Antonio, 17-24-1-2 sits in seventh position in the AHL's West Division and trails fourth place Milwaukee by 12 points in the chase for the division's final playoff spot. Their three road wins (3-12-1-1) represent a league low. The Marlies, with only four home wins (4-13-2-1) will attempt to build on their league worse record on home-ice. Toronto does however sport a 6-7-0-1 versus West Division opponents. (C) Yanick Lehoux leads the Rampage in scoring through 44 games with 43 points (20g-23a=43 pts) while only missing two of the team's games to date. Goaltender Josh Tordjman has a record of 8-8-1 while maintaining a GAA of 2.67 and a 0.916 save percentage. Notables: Despite a 78-54 shots advantage over two games at Air Canada Centre earlier this season, the Marlies are 0-2 in the Maple Leafs' home building following 4-1 and 2-1 setbacks versus Omaha and Hamilton respectively. Toronto was 1-1 in two contests at ACC last season in losing to Hamilton in November and defeating Cleveland on the strength of Luke Fulghum's three goals on January 2, 2006. A Montreal native, Lehoux played his entire four year major junior career with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Baie-Comeau Drakkar, never missing more than seven games in any of his four seasons. He tallied 135 points (67 goals, 68 assists) in 2000-01 with the Drakkar. Lehoux played under Marlies' assistant coach Jim Hughes for parts of the last two seasons with the AHL's Manchester Monarchs. He earned an assist on Jeff Taffe's game winning goal when last these teams met in a 4-3 San Antonio win on November 4, 2006 in Texas.

GRAND RAPIDS GRIFFINS

The Grand Rapids Griffins - AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings - host the Marlies in the final game for both clubs before the All-Star break when the puck drops in the Bay State on Saturday evening. Grand Rapids, 20-18-4-2, currently sits in fourth place in the AHL's North Division and lead the fifth place Marlies by five points in the race for the division's final playoff spot. Saturday's contest marks the fifth of eight regular season meetings and the third at Van Andel Arena. The season series is currently tied at two wins apiece following a 2-1 Griffins' win when last the teams met on December 9 at Ricoh Coliseum. Griffin Josh Langfeld scored the game winning goal at 2:45 of the final frame while Alex Foster had the lone Toronto marker. The Marlies are 2-0 in Grand Rapids this season, site of Marlies' goaltender Justin Pogge's first professional win (and first pro shutout) when he turned aside 49 Griffin attempts in a 4-0 win for the visitors on October 27. Despite their two losses versus Toronto, the Griffins sport a record of 11-10-2-2 on home ice this season. They conclude a four game road trip by playing two games at Rochester on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The club is off to a 0-2 start following a weekend sweep by the Bulldogs in two games at Copps Coliseum last weekend. (C) Kip Miller leads the Griffins in scoring with 43 points through 44 games (15g-28a=43 pts). Goaltender Jimmy Howard has two shutout wins among his 12 victories and has a record of 12-12-1 while maintaining a GAA of 2.89 and a 0.904 save percentage through 28 appearances with the club this season. Notables: A Michigan native, Miller will represent Team PlanetUSA as the honourary playing captain at next Monday's AHL All-Star Game in Toronto. Miller is a four-time Griffin but has never played for the squad in consecutive seasons. Prior to Pogge's shutout win at GR earlier this season, no opposing goaltender had ever recorded more than 40 stops in a shutout victory over the Griffins. Houston's Josh Harding held the previous record. Grand Rapids eliminated the Marlies in five games in last season's North Division Calder Cup Quarterfinals. Three of the five games were decided by one goal all in favour of the Griffins.
