DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White today announced that the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars have loaned Goaltender Dan Ellis back to the Iowa Stars.
Drafted by Dallas with the 60th overall pick in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Ellis has appeared in 24 games for the Iowa Stars this season, accumulating a record of 11-10-1 with a .878 Save Percentage and a 3.44 Goals Against Average. He did not appear in game action while with Dallas over that last four days.
In 34 games for the Iowa Stars during the 2005-06 season, he posted a record of 16-13-1. A native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, he was 12th in the AHL with a .912 save percentage and was ranked 18th with a 2.78 Goals Against Average. The 26-year old registered a five-game winning streak from December 10th-23rd, 2005, allowing just eight goals in that span. Credited with Iowa's first franchise win, Dan was also named the 2004 ECHL Playoff Most Valuable Player with a record of 13-3 and a 1.86 GAA as a member of the Stars ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads.
