Beckford-Tseu, Wood, MacMurchy Return to ECHL Alaska

Peoria, IL (January 23, 2007) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu has been reassigned to the team's ECHL affiliate, the Alaska Aces - 2006 Kelly Cup Champions, by the NHL's St. Louis Blues. McDonald also announced that defenseman Stephen Wood and rookie right wing Ryan MacMurchy have been loaned to the Aces.

Beckford-Tseu, 22, is 6-4-1 in 12 appearances for the Rivermen this season with a 2.64 goals against average (GAA) and a .908 save percentage. With the Aces this year, the 6-foot-2, 201-pound native of Toronto, Ontario, is 5-0-0-0 with a .79 GAA and a .969 save percentage.

Wood, 25, has two assists in 16 games with the Rivermen to go with 10 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-foot-3, 215-pound native of Sudbury, Massachusetts, has notched five points (4g, 1a) and 24 PIM in eight games with the Aces this season.

MacMurchy, 23, has tallied one goal in 15 games with the Rivermen in 2006-07. The 6-foot-2, 207-pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan, has posted seven points (2g, 5a) and 19 PIM in nine games with the Aces.

On Friday, January 26, the Rivermen face off against the Iowa Stars at 7:30 p.m. It is a Coca-Cola/Insight Date Night, as fans receive two (2) tickets, two (2) Cokes and a tub of popcorn for just $25. The first 2,000 fans receive a 25th Anniversary Puck, courtesy of CEFCU - Your Credit Union. Dave Mackey will appear and sign autographs as part of U.S. Cellular's 25 Greatest Rivermen of All-Time; the first 2,500 fans will receive a Dave Mackey player card. And Claude Scott - the Happy Trumpeter - will appear and entertain the crowd.
