Published on April 7, 2006 under American Hockey League (AHL)
Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies hockey club - AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs - today announced that individual-game tickets for the first round of the 2005-06 Calder Cup Playoffs will go on sale this Saturday, April 8. Although the first-round playoff opponent is yet to be determined, the Marlies are likely to open post-season play two weeks from this evening at Grand Rapids, Michigan. All playoff dates will be announced once the opponent is confirmed.
The Marlies were 5-3 winners this past Wednesday evening at Rochester and thus guaranteed the club a North Division playoff position in their first year of existence. The win also eliminated the Americans from post-season contention for the first time in 16 seasons.
Playoff tickets can be obtained beginning tomorrow at all southern Ontario Ticketmaster outlets or by calling 416-872-5000. Fans are encouraged to visit www.torontomarlies.com/tickets.tm should they wish to purchase tickets online. In-person sales at Ricoh Coliseum or Air Canada Centre begin early next week. Following a league-wide minimum increase of $1 over regular-season ticket prices, single-game playoff ticket prices will range from $11 to $55 CDN funds.
The Marlies return to action in Toronto tomorrow evening when they host the Manitoba Moose - AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks - for the final time this season at 7 p.m. For ticket information, please call 416-597-PUCK or visit www.torontomarlies.com
