Iowa Chops News Release
The Iowa Stars today announced that they have listed three jerseys that are up for auction from the 2005-2006 Season on iowastarshockey.com.
Hockey fans worldwide will be able to place bids on the jerseys worn by Stars players on opening night of the Iowa Stars Inaugural Season by visiting iowastarshockey.com and clicking the jersey auction logo on the right side of the Iowa Stars main page. Each jersey will be listed for 14 days and begins April 7th at Noon.
Game Worn Jerseys that are up for auction include the Inaugural Season opening night jerseys of goaltender Dan Ellis, forward Loui Eriksson, and current Edmonton Oiler Matt Greene.
Ellis Home White
Up for auction by the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League is a Dan Ellis Iowa Stars GAME WORN OPENING NIGHT WHITE HOME Jersey #30, size Pro58G. On Oct. 16th, Ellis posted 30 saves en-route to a 7-2 win and the franchise's first-ever win. A member of the 2004 Idaho Steelheads (ECHL) Kelly Cup Championship team, Ellis recorded an assist on the game-winning goal in a 6-3 win against Milwaukee on Dec. 23rd. This Jersey, made by Reebok Hockey, shows several puck marks that go across the front of the Jersey. There is a scuff mark on the left sleeve above the green and gold striping. The sleeves on the jersey are wider due to it being a goalie cut jersey. On the top right front is a square KPWB 23 Logo patch. On the top left front is the Iowa Stars Inaugural Season patch. The shoulder patches feature the Dallas Stars Logo and the State Logo. The back of the jersey has several patches. Top center above the nameplate: Reebok logo. On the bottom right of the jersey: Reebok logo patch and an AHL secondary logo. All patches are sewn on and the jersey will come with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Iowa Stars.
Eriksson White Home
Up for auction by the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League is a Loui Eriksson Iowa Stars GAME WORN OPENING NIGHT WHITE HOME Jersey #21, size Pro56. After posting two goals and three assists with Team Sweden at the 2005 World Junior Championships, Loui made his North American Pro debut on Oct. 6th. The Goteborg, Sweden-born winger had the game-winning goal on Dec. 16th in a 4-1 win at Chicago. Eriksson's career stats can be seen at http://iowastarshockey.com/team/?id=481.
This Jersey, made by Reebok Hockey, shows a crease across the front Iowa Stars logo. The front also shows several scuff marks cause by pucks and sticks. On the back part of the left sleeve there are small red marks caused by the dasher boards around the rink. On the top right front is a square KPWB 23 Logo patch. Up for auction by the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League is a Matt Greene Iowa Stars GAME WORN OPENING NIGHT WHITE HOME Jersey #2, size Pro56. Drafted by the Edmonton Oilers with their 4th choice, second round selection, 44th overall in the NHL Entry Draft, Matt made his professional debut on 10/6 vs. the Peoria Rivermen. Greene recorded first professional point, an assist, and then first professional goal at Peoria on 10/15. He has been on recall to the NHL's Edmonton Oilers since 12/20. He made NHL debut on 12/31 vs. Nashville (9:15, 1 Shot, Even, 4 PIM's). Greene's career stats can be seen at http://iowastarshockey.com/team/?id=475.
