Westrum returns from Minnesota

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned center Erik Westrum to the American Hockey League's (AHL) Houston Aeros. Westrum is expected to be available when the Aeros play host to the San Antonio Rampage on Sunday at 5:05 p.m.

Westrum, 26 (7/26/79), appeared in eight games with Minnesota this season after being recalled on March 20. The Minneapolis, Minnesota-native registered two penalty minutes, 10 shots on goal and averaged 11:09 of ice-time. He has collected two points (1-1=2) in 23 career NHL contests with the Phoenix Coyotes and Minnesota.

Westrum ranked second in the AHL in scoring with 92 points (31-61=92) at the time of his recall, and he still places third in the league. His 61 assists trail only teammate Kirby Law's total of 64 for the top spot in the AHL. Westrum earned First Team All-AHL honors on Thursday.
