Marlies Open a Back-To-Back against the Rocket Tonight in Laval
December 27, 2019 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Toronto Marlies News Release
The Marlies are in Laval tonight for their second game of a 3-in-3 and the first of back-to-back games against the Rocket.
Fresh off a 3-2 loss to the Belleville Senators yesterday, the Marlies have a tough weekend ahead against a well rested opponent. The Rocket last played on December 20th, dropping a 5-3 decision to the Utica Comets. Tonight's hosts are 4-5-0-1 in their past 10 games and currently sit in sixth place in the North Division and 10th in the Eastern Conference.
These two teams have met twice so far this season, with both games requiring extra time. The Rocket edged the Marlies 6-5 in a shootout on November 2, and the Marlies notched the overtime winner on November 20th to split the season series at one apiece.
The Marlies will be looking to string together some wins and pick up some important points in this divisional matchup. Toronto currently sits in second place in the North Division and fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Three points separate the Marlies from the division leading Rochester Americans.
Puck drops at 7:30 PM on AHLTV. Fans can also follow along on Twitter (@TorontoMarlies) for live updates.
