Mapletoft Recalled By Islanders, Charpentier Recalled From Trenton

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of Center Justin Mapletoft by the Islanders. The Sound Tigers have also announced the recall of Right Wing Marco Charpentier from the East Coast Hockey League's Trenton Titans to Bridgeport by the Islanders.

This season, Mapletoft has 13 goals, 26 assists, 39 points and 47 penalty minutes in 63 games with the Sound Tigers, as well as two goals, two assists, four points and two penalty minutes in ten games with the Islanders, including today's 3-2 home loss to the Atlanta Thrashers.

Charpentier has one goal, one assist, two points and six penalty minutes in 14 games with the Sound Tigers, as well as 14 goals, 20 assists, 34 points and 14 penalty minutes in 43 games with Trenton this season. He notched one goal, one assist, two points and two penalty minutes in 16 games with the Sound Tigers, as well as 20 goals, 21 assists, 41 points and 31 penalty minutes in 54 games with the Titans last season.

The Sound Tigers will open a season-ending, home-and-home series with the Hartford Wolf Pack on the road tonight at 7:05 p.m. They will host Hartford tomorrow at 4:05 p.m. All Sound Tigers' games are broadcast live on "News/Talk 960" WELI-AM and at www.soundtigers.com. WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 AM also broadcasts road games.
