
Pecker nets hat trick as Ducks tie Barons in home finale

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cory Pecker registered his first career hat trick, as the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks skated to a 4-4 tie with the Cleveland Barons at Cincinnati Gardens.
Mike Brown also found the back of the net and Tony Martensson finished with three assists for the Ducks, who played their final home game of the season in front of 7,044 fans.
Ilja Bryzgalov stopped 27 of the 31 shots that he faced and moved past Gregg Naumenko into first on the Ducks' all-time career goaltending leader list in games (99) and minutes played (5,418).
Pecker, a first-year pro, netted his 18th and 19th goals in the opening period and completed Cincinnati's first hat trick in 149 games with his team-leading 20th goal thee minutes into the third to give his club a 4-2 lead.
Tavis Hansen had two goals for the Barons, who snapped an 11-game losing streak but remain winless in their last 12 (0-10-1-1).
Seamus Kotyk posted 24 saves in the stalemate for Cleveland.
The Ducks play their final game of the regular-season today at 4:05 p.m. at Cleveland. The game can be heard on www.sportsjuice.com beginning with the Fifth Third Bank pre-game show at 3:45 p.m.
