April 5, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Worcester IceCats News Release
WORCESTER, MA - The Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League (AHL) announced that tickets for the 2003 Calder Cup Playoffs are on sale today, Saturday, April 5th. Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, including Worcester's Centrum Centre Box Office or charge by phone at 508 or 617 931-2000.
Ticket prices for the playoffs will be $16.00 for adults, $13.00 for students (13-18 years old or with college ID) and $10.00 for kids (ages 2-12) and seniors (65 or older). Worcester's Centrum Centre Box Office hours are 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM Monday through Friday with special hours on event days. Discount tickets are available for groups of 15 or more by calling the IceCats at 1-800-830-CATS.
The playoff format in the AHL calls for the 7,8,9 and 10 seeds to play a three game "qualifying round". The winners of the best-of-three qualifiers will then earn invitations to the 2003 AHL Calder Cup Playoffs. The IceCats have two regular season games remaining, including Sunday at home. With the IceCats holding 87 points and several playoff scenarios still possible heading into the final weekend of the season, the tickets will be good for the "qualifying round" hosted by Worcester and/or a first round series. It is still undetermined who the 'Cats will face off against or where they will play.
For IceCats Season Ticket Holders, Game 'A' is the first home game, Game 'B' is the second home game and Game 'C' is the third home game.
The IceCats regular season concludes Sunday afternoon with Kids' Fan Appreciation Day and a 4:05 PM start versus the Springfield Falcons at Worcester's Centrum Centre.
