Columbia, SC - Sean Blanchard scored twice as the Augusta Lynx defeated the Columbia Inferno 4-2 on Friday night at the Frank McGuire Arena.

Brian Passmore got the Lynx on the board first with his 16th goal of the year just four minutes into the period. Passmore fought his way free from a check in front of the Inferno goal to take a Shane Hynes pass and fire it over the left pad of Todd Ford for a 1-0 edge.

Later in the period, Greg Watson would tee the puck up for a Sean Blanchard one-time blast over the shoulder of Ford to make it 2-0.

With time winding down in the frame the Inferno stole one back as Ren Fauci's wrist shot managed to elude Dave McKee through a screen with just 52 seconds remaining to make it 2-1 at the intermission.

Columbia entered the third period on a power play and took just 34 seconds to tie the game as Luke Fulghum tipped a shot past McKee for his 20th goal of the year.

Augusta game back at 9:32 as Greg Watson scored his first goal in a Lynx uniform, firing a wrist shot that snuck through the pads on Ford from Southern and Ryan Petz for the eventual game winner.

Blanchard followed with his second of the night exactly six minutes later, a power play goal from Eric Lundberg and Louis Goulet for a 4-2 final.

McKee stopped 23 shots on the night to record his 26th victory of the season, putting him one shy of tying Judd Lambert's team record for wins in a season. Ford stopped 25 shots in the loss for the Inferno.

The Lynx head to Gwinnett to battle the Gladiators at 7:35 pm tomorrow night. Radio coverage begins one half-hour before puck drop on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
