
Lightning Recall Darche and Jancevski From Admirals

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled left wing Mathieu Darche and defenseman Dan Jancevski from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League, Executive Vice President and General Manager Jay Feaster announced.
Darche, a 6-foot-1, 217-pound native of Montreal, Quebec, played in 13 games with the Lightning this season. He scored his first goal since the 2001-02 season, the second of his career, October 20 vs. Atlanta. His three assists and four points this season are each career highs, and he was averaging 10:57 of ice time with Tampa Bay. Darche, 30, has played in 41 career NHL games with two goals and 6 points. He was signed as a free agent on July 2, 2007.
After being re-assigned to Norfolk on November 13, Darche went on to earn RBK/AHL Player of the Week honors for the period ending November 18. In his four games with the Admirals he scored three goals and recorded seven assists.
Jancevski (pronounced jan-SEV-skee), a 6-3, 218-pound native of Windsor, Onatrio, has played in all 17 games as the Admirals's captain this season and recorded four assists with 14 penalty minutes. Jancevski, 26, was tied for the Hamilton Bulldogs' top scoring defenseman with 31 points as they won the Calder Cup in 2007.
He is a veteran of 487 American Hockey League games and has recorded 28 goals and 145 points. He served as captain of the Iowa Stars during their inaugural season in 2005-06, and made his NHL debut with the Dallas Stars on February 4, 2006 against St. Louis. He led all Iowa defensemen in scoring that season with 38 points (9-29-38). He has appeared in 40 career Calder Cup Playoff games, recording four goals and 17 points.
He was originally drafted by the Dallas Stars in the second-round, 66 th overall, at the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. The Lightning signed him as a free agent on July 6, 2007.
The Admirals return to Norfolk with three games this week beginning tonight with a 7:15 matchup against the Philadelphia Phantoms. Tonight is also USA Hockey Night and Baxter's College Night.
