
IceHogs to announce big promotion at Friday's game

Rockford, Ill.- A big weekend for the Rockford IceHogs kicks off Friday night when the arch-rival Quad City Flames visit the Rockford MetroCentre for the first time at 7:30 p.m. The IceHogs will announce an exciting new promotion during the first intermission.
The promotional announcement is one several events that will take place at the MetroCentre this weekend. Join the IceHogs and the IceHogs Charitable Foundation as they partner up with a prominent local business to give back to the community once again. This is a night that you will not want to miss!
Friday night is also Championship Ring Statue night at the MetroCentre for the first 2,000 fans. The promotion is sponsored by Dental Dimensions, WTVO-TV channel 17 and FOX 39. The statues commemorate the IceHogs Colonial Cup Championship from last spring.
Also during the first intermission, the IceHogs will present two former players with their championship rings. Defensemen Matt Gens and Mike Letizia are expected to be in attendance along with the IceHogs staff.
To wrap up an exciting weekend with the IceHogs at the MetroCentre, the Hogs will host the Grand Rapids Griffins on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive IceHogs Poster #2 from Pepsi, Johnson Press, Medicine Man and WTVO-TV channel 17.
Following the game fans can bring their skates and get on the ice with the Hogs! Sunday is this season's second Skate With The Hogs. Fans can meet, skate with and receive autographs from their favorite IceHogs players.

PAIEMENT RELEASED FROM PTO RETURNING TO TEXAS
Rockford IceHogs General Manager of Hockey Operations Al MacIsaac announced on Wednesday that rookie defenseman Jonathan Paiement was released from his Professional Try Out with the IceHogs and returned to the Texas Wildcatters (ECHL). Paiement played in three games with Rockford after getting loaned to the Hogs on Nov. 11.
In three games with Rockford Paiement had a pair of goals with a plus/minus rating of +1. Prior to his call-up to Rockford, Paiement had a goal and five assists in eight games with the Wildcatters.
