LeBron James of Baseball to Visit Appalachian Power Park

Charleston Dirty Birds News Release
Bryce Harper, the "LeBron James of Baseball" and #1 overall pick in 2010, will be visiting Appalachian Power Park with the Hagerstown Suns this week. Game 1 of the Series is tonight at 7:05 and will continue each night at 7:05 through Friday evening. Baseball fans know the name, but the casual fan that recalls Ryan Braun and Matt LaPorta at Appalachian Power Park definitely should check him out. His legend may outgrow the Dave Parker Coal Train story in Charleston Baseball lore when it's all said and done.
Harper earned his GED after his sophomore year of high school in December of 2009 to attend Junior College and become eligible for the Major League Baseball Draft as a would-be high school junior. The 17 year old joined the College of Southern Nevada and was named the Conference Player of the Year after hitting 31 home runs (eclipsing the school record of 12), 98 RBI, and a .443 batting average in 66 games.
