
Late RailRiders Rally Dooms Bats in 4-1 Loss

LOUISVILLE Ky.- The Louisville Bats (45-49) fell short in a 4-1 loss to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (50-44). The Bats had a one run lead going into the eighth inning but the RailRiders picked up a run in the eighth and three more runs in the ninth to secure the win.
After a scoreless first five innings for both teams, Louisville was finally able to get on the board in the bottom of the sixth. Irving Falu led the inning off with a triple and then was brought in by a single off the bat of Jermaine Curtis.This extended Curtis' hit streak to six games.
The RailRiders answered back in the top of the eighth. Jose Rosario hit a triple to lead off the inning and scored off of a double by Aaron Judge.
The RailRiders broke the tie in the ninth by scoring three runs with the help of a double and a pair of singles to take game two.
Offensively for the Bats, Falu was 2-for-3, Curtis was 2-for-4 with one RBI, and Ramon Cabrera was 2-for-4.
For the RailRiders, Figueroa was 3-for-5. Judge was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and Jose Pirela was 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Tony Cingrani started on the mound in his fourth rehab appearance for the Bats. Cingrani threw five innings. He gave up four hits, no runs, and one walk while striking out six. Drew Hayes (L,3-2) suffered the loss for Louisville.
Esmil Rodgers started the game for the RailRiders. Rodgers pitched seven innings. He gave up seven hits, one earned run, and one walk while striking out three. James Pazo (W, 2-1) got the win for the RailRiders. Chris Martin (S,1) picked up the save.
The Bats will play game three of the four game series against the RailRiders on Saturday night at 6:05 PM. Expected to pitch for Louisville is lefty David Holmberg (5-6, 4.63). On the mound for the RailRiders will be right-handed pitcher Danny Burawa (1-2, 2.12).
