July 17, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Bacon & Brews Bash - an on-field event featuring unlimited beer tastings of local craft brew offerings and food trucks serving savory bacon dishes -- makes its highly-anticipated return to Coca-Cola Park on Sat., Sept. 26 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Participants receive unlimited beer tastings, a collector's 4-ounce tasting mug and can also enjoy a bevy of bacon-related food items available for purchase from various food trucks and vendors. This four-hour event also includes live entertainment and other fun and games including the Lehigh Valley's 2nd annual Hog Calling competition.
Bacon & Brews Bash tickets are on sale now for $40 per person for the four-hour unlimited tasting event. For just $5, tickets are available for designated drivers who will receive complimentary soda or for those just wishing to eat bacon. Please note that you must be 21 or older to attend. Vendors looking to participate with beer or bacon fare for Bacon & Brews Bash should contact the IronPigs at info@ironpigsbaseball.com.
Hundreds of people participated in last year's inaugural event which included dozens upon dozens of local craft brew selections. Even more samplings from local breweries will be available for this year's Bacon & Brews Bash and a full listing of the 2015 beer offerings will be made available in the coming weeks.
To purchase tickets for the Bacon and Brews Bash, click here, call (610) 841-PIGS (7447) or visit the Coca-Cola Park ticket office during normal business hours (Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.). The total number of participants will be limited for this event so act now to guarantee your tickets.
For those seeking the ultimate bacon weekend, the 2nd annual Bacon 5K Challenge, presented by Toyota -- which includes a half-pound bacon-eating challenge at the race's halfway point as well as a celebratory drink at the race's conclusion -- will make its return to Coca-Cola Park on Friday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. More than 500 runners (and eaters) completed the challenge during last year's inaugural event. For more information or to sign-up now, click here.
Following the club's successful "Smell the Change" rebrand in 2014 that included the introduction of a bacon strip on-field cap among other various bacon-related elements, the IronPigs have doubled-down on bacon recently, adding a "Bacon, USA" theme to their 2015 campaign. The bacon cap is the top-selling lid in the Minors since its viral debut. The club's bacon-themed uniform can be viewed at www.SmellTheChange.com.
Single-game tickets, mini-plan packages and group tickets for all IronPigs home games presented by Capital BlueCross, are on sale now and can be purchased at the Coca-Cola Park Ticket Office, online at www.ironpigsbaseball.com or by calling (610) 841-PIGS (7447).
