Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

Louisville, Ky. - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) scored the game's last four runs including three in the ninth to best the Louisville Bats (Cincinnati Reds) on Friday night, 4-1. The RailRiders have won three in a row for the first time since a six-game run from June 8-13.

SWB struggled against Major League rehabber Tony Cingrani. The southpaw tossed five scoreless innings, but loaded the bases in the fifth before striking out Jose Rosario looking after an 11-pitch plate appearance.

Louisville scored just once against starter Esmil Rogers who tossed a season-best seven innings. The run came in the sixth when Irving Falu's leadoff triple was followed by a just-fair single from Jermaine Curtis.

The RailRiders used a similar recipe to tie the game in the eighth when Rosario tripled to start the inning against reliever Drew Hayes. Aaron Judge followed with an RBI double for a 1-1 deadlock.

In the ninth, run-scoring contact by Jose Pirela, Judge and Juan Graterol gave the RailRiders the 4-1 lead that would go final. It did so thanks to a scoreless inning by Chris Martin for his first save. Fellow reliever James Pazos (2-1) tossed a scoreless and hitless eighth for the victory.

The four-game series continues at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday with usual reliever, right-hander Danny Burawa (1-2, 2.12), facing southpaw David Holmberg (5-6, 4.63). The RailRiders will give away a special copy of Yankees Magazine to the first 2,500 fans in attendance on Friday, July 24, when the team hosts the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers). Aaron Judge made his second professional start in center field, a position he played while attending Fresno State. He went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
