
Las Vegas Receives Gord Baldwin and Brad Cole

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced today that the Quad City Flames of the American Hockey League have assigned defensemen Gord Baldwin and Brad Cole.
Baldwin is in his first professional season and will make his ECHL debut on Friday in Las Vegas. The rookie defenseman started the season in Calgary Flames training camp. He was assigned to Quad City on September 19th, 2007 and has been with the Flames AHL affiliate the entire season. In 24 games with Quad City, the 6-foot-5, 210-pounder dished out two assists and accumulated 15 penalty minutes. The Winnipeg, MB native was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the third round (#69 overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Prior to turning pro, the 20-year old played three seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL). In 190 WHL games, Baldwin scored 14 goals and added 47 assists for 61 points. During the 2006-07 season, Baldwin's Medicine Hat Tigers won the WHL's regular season title.
Cole was undrafted out of juniors but, was invited to Calgary's camp as a free agent in fall of 2007. The rookie defenseman played in 19 games with Quad City this season, registering one goal and two assists for three points. Cole is in his rookie season and is also expected to make his ECHL debut on Friday.
Prior to turning pro, the Miniota, MB native split five seasons between the Seattle Thunderbirds, the Kootenay Ice and the Saskatoon Blades. Cole helped Kootenay win the 2005-06 WHL regular season championship with current Wranglers winger Adam Cracknell. Cole's best WHL season came in 2006-07, the 6-foot-3, 190-pounder scored 16 goals and added 25 assists for 41 points in 63 games played. For his junior career, Cole scored 21 goals and added 42 assists for 63 points in 232 contests.
The Wranglers return home on Friday, February 1st at 7:05 pm to host the Fresno Falcons. The first 2,500 fans will receive a "Duke" Piggy Bank, compliments of Cox Communications. Las Vegas then heads to Fresno for a 7:30 pm game on Saturday.

The Wranglers play all 36 home games at the Orleans Arena, located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
