Marlies recall Tsimikalis

Center Peter Tsimikalis has been recalled to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, Inferno head coach and director of hockey operations Troy Mann announced today. Tsimikalis will be joining fellow Inferno player Tyler Doig, who was recalled to the Marlies yesterday.

Tsimikalis, 6-foot-1, 195-pounds, has 27 points (nine goals, 18 assists) and 18 penalty minutes in 40 games with the Inferno this season, his first in the ECHL.

Prior to joining the Inferno, the Toronto native had eight points (four goals, four assists) and 11 penalty minutes in 30 career AHL games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Albany River Rats from 2005-06 through 2006-07.

Tsimikalis also enjoyed a lengthy junior career in the Ontario Hockey League. In 286 career regular-season games, Tsimikalis had 297 points (95 goals, 202 assists) and 188 penalty minutes from 2002-03 through 2006-07 with the Ottawa 67's, Oshawa Generals and Kitchener Rangers. In 33 career OHL playoff games, Tsimikalis has tallied 20 points (two goals, 18 assists) and 24 penalty minutes.

The Columbia Inferno return to the Carolina Coliseum on Friday, Feb. 8 to take on the Texas Wildcatters at 7:05 p.m.
