Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves knocked off the Columbia Inferno by the score of 2-1 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Tuesday evening.

Travis Lisabeth got the Sea Wolves on the board when he picked off an errant lead pass from Columbia's Patrick Wellar and fired it past Inferno goaltender Jeff Jakaitis at 11:11 of the first period. Columbia erased the lead when Tyson Marsh found the rebound of Steve McJannet's shot and fired it into the net for a shorthand goal at 18:06.

Marek Kvapil scored the game-winner when Ryan Menei sprung him on a breakaway and he tucked the puck into the neat, beating Jakaitis with a backhand move at 14:37 of the second period.

Ryan Munce made 27 saves to earn the win, including nine stops in the scoreless third period. Mississippi's penalty kill was a perfect 7-for-7, and killed off two third period power plays.
