Augusta's Winder Suspended Three Games, Fined

January 31, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release


PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that it has suspended Augusta left wing Garrett Winder for three games and fined him an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #518 at Gwinnett on Jan. 29.

At 4:31 of the third period, Winder was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct for cross checking under Rule 59.5.

Winder is suspended and fined under Rule 29 Supplemental Discipline.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Winder will miss Augusta's games at South Carolina (Jan. 31), against Pensacola (Feb. 1) and against Pensacola (Feb. 2).
