Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets completed week four of 2013-14 collecting two points after clipping the Cyclones at Cincinnati Saturday night 3-2. Cincinnati entered the game riding a seven game winning streak. The Komets handed the Cyclones their first loss of the season, snapping the win streak and gaining two points on the North division leader. The Komets enter week five with a 3-4-2 record and eight points, trailing first-place Cincinnati by six points after nine games.

Players of the week -- Center Mickey Lang led the Komets with three goals for the week, including 2 power play goals, a short-handed marker and Saturday's game winner. Right wing Brandon Marino and defenseman Jace Coyle led with four assists each. Forward Scott Fleming also had a 4-point week scoring 2 goals and 2 assists. Lang and Marino lead the Komets after nine games with 11 points each. Marino and Fleming posted points in each of the three games played this past week. Rookie goaltender Andrey Makarov rebounded from Friday's 6-2 home setback to Wheeling with a 27-save, 3-2 win Saturday at Cincinnati, his third Fort Wayne win in five starts. Fleming ranks third among ECHL rookies with 10 points (3g, 7a). Coyle ranks second among ECHL defensemen with 8 points (1g, 7a) and leads with 7 assists.

Streaking Komets -- Marino extends his point streak to six games (2g, 5a) while Fleming pushes his point streak to four games (2g, 3a).

Komet firsts -- Defenseman Joe Hartman registered his first pro point with an assist on Saturday's game winning goal at Cincinnati. Center Bobby Hughes scored his first goal of the season Saturday at Cincinnati.

The Komets rank second in the ECHL with three short-handed tallies, including the game winner at Cincinnati Saturday. The Komets have not allowed a power play goal in two straight games (4/4) and were 9/10 on the penalty kill for the week (4th overall, 90.7%). The Komets scored three power play goals on 14 chances for the week (6th overall, 17.0%).

Player movement -- The Komets announced Monday that center Kenton Miller has been activated and added to the roster. Miller, 22, was acquired from Utah in a trade for cash. The skater appeared in six ECHL games with the Grizzlies this season (0 points, 2 penalty minutes). The Komets also announced that center Tristan King has been placed on the 21-day injured reserve list.

Komets home for double-header weekend -- The Komets will stay home this weekend to host a pair of games. Friday the Toledo Walleye visit for an 8pm faceoff. Saturday the Greenville Road Warriors are in town to face the Komets at 7:30pm.

Military Appreciation Weekend -- This weekend the Komets and Window World present Military Appreciation Weekend as the Komets host Toledo Friday and Greenville Saturday. Window World spokesman and Indy Car driver John Andretti will be on hand each night to meet and greet Komet fans and sign autographs. The Komets will wear special stars and stripes jerseys each game. The jerseys will be auctioned off to the highest bidders during a silent auction held during the games and will benefit the Veterans Airlift Command.

Sound Off with the Komets Monday Nights on 21Alive -- The Komets, 21Alive and title sponsor PHP present Sound Off with the Komets, a live weekly televised sports program each Monday night during the Komet season at 7:30pm on WPTA TV 21Alive. The half-hour show will be televised from Champions Bar and Restaurant in downtown Fort Wayne and will feature highlights, interviews and call-ins as Komet players and personnel serve as co-hosts with 21Alive's Tommy Schoegler. Tonight, Nov. 11, Komet forward Chris Auger will be Tommy's guest.

ECHL Fantasy Team -- ECHL fans can log on to ECHL-dot-com to vote for their favorite players to help select the 2013-14 ECHL Fantasy Team, presented by The MeiGray Group and U-S-A Hockey. Fort Wayne fans can vote for their favorite Komet player and their other favorite players around the league. The top vote-getter on each team will wear a team jersey with a special American flag-themed front crest during the designated dates leading up to the 2014 Winter Olympics. The chosen Komet will wear the Fantasy Team jersey on Friday, Jan. 17 when the Komets host the Elmira Jackals. Voting runs through Friday, Nov. 22. Visit ECHL.com to cast your vote today!

KOMETS ON ICE THIS WEEK--

- Friday, Nov. 15, Toledo Walleye (4-4-1, 9 points) at Komets (3-4-2, 8 points), 8pm-- The Komets face division rival Toledo Friday night at 8:00. It's the second of six visits by the Walleye this season. Toledo spoiled the Komets' home opener Oct. 19 with a 4-3 shootout victory on Coliseum ice. The Walleye will skate at Orlando Monday night before making their appearance Friday.

- Saturday, Nov 16, Greenville Road Warriors (4-6-0, 8 points) at Komets, 7:30pm-- The Komets will get their first of two looks this season at the Road Warriors Saturday. Greenville also visits Feb. 28. Greenville also rests in fourth place and are in the South division of the Eastern Conference. The Warriors snapped a four-game losing streak with a 2-1 win in their last game Saturday night at Gwinnett and are 1-4 in their last five outings. Greenville also skates a special Veteran's Day game Monday night at home against Gwinnett and will skate at Cincinnati Friday before traveling to Fort Wayne Saturday.
