Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

THIS PAST WEEK:

About Saturday Night vs. Fort Wayne: Mickey Lang's late shorthanded goal proved the be the difference maker as the Komets rallied back to beat the Cyclones by a 3-2 final score in front of 5,747 at U.S. Bank Arena. Taylor Aronson and John McFarland scored goals for Cincinnati in a losing effort.

About Friday Night in Kalamazoo: The Cyclones thwarted a late game comeback by the Wings and hung on to win by a 6-5 final score in front of 4,216 at Wings Stadium. It was the first time since last February that Cincinnati had won seven straight games. Wade Megan finished with his fourth-straight two-goal game.

SHOTS FROM THE POINT:

Southern State of Mind: The Cyclones open a three-game week on Wednesday night, and for the first time since First Face-Off, they'll face a non-division opponent. The Orlando Solar Bears will be in town for their only visit this season on a Wet Wednesday featuring $1 Beers. Then on Friday, the Greenville Road Warriors will invade 100 Broadway on Star Wars Night. Cincinnati will close out their busy week on the road, as they take another trip to Kalamazoo for a Saturday night meeting against the Wings.

The Record Setter: While forward Megan had his seven-game point streak snapped, he completed one of the most impressive starts of any Cyclones player in history. Since returning to ECHL play in 2006, Megan is the only player to have ever scored two goals in four straight games. He leads all rookies, and ranks third overall, with 14 points this season.

Middle Period Power: The Cyclones have been at their most impressive during the second period of games this season - outscoring their opponents by a 12-5. Only two other teams have allowed fewer goals in the middle stanza.
