Week Five

On the heels of a 1-1-1 homestand against the Elmira Jackals and Toledo Walleye, the Florida Everblades hit the road this week for their first looks at South Division rivals Gwinnett and South Carolina. It is the first time this season the Blades--who trail the Stingrays by two points for first place in the South--will face a divisional opponent outside of Orlando.

Official Mobile App

The Everblades announced the launch of their Official Mobile App for iOS on Monday. Within the app, fans can view team news, the 2013-14 schedule, player information and bios, connect to the Everblades via social media, buy tickets and listen live to game broadcasts. The app is currently compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch; the Blades are currently in development to release it on Google Play for the Android mobile platform.

Last Week

Nov. 6, Germain Arena, Florida 5, Elmira 2 - Mathieu Roy had two assists in his return to the lineup and Matthew Pistilli had a season-high four points as the Blades held off the Jackals for a 5-2 win, their second in a row.

Nov. 8, Germain Arena, Elmira 6, Florida 5 - The Blades got third period goals from Roy and Pistilli but could not erase a 6-3 third period deficit, suffering their first regulation loss of the year 6-5 to Elmira. On the night the Blades scored three shorthanded goals (Carl Nielsen, Pistilli, Roy), one shy of the franchise record.

Nov. 9, Germain Arena, Toledo 4, Florida 3 (OT) - Staring down another three-goal deficit after two, the Blades got running goals from Roy, Rocco Carzo and Jordan Henry to force overtime but a PPG by Toledo's Jason Lepine cemented the Blades' 1-1-1 record on their three-game homestand.

Player Notes - Matthew Pistilli now leads the league in goals with 10 and is second in the league in overall scoring with 20 points.

- Brandon MacLean continues to lead the ECHL in both game-winning goals (4) and shorthanded goals (2).

- Mathieu Roy has opened his season with a three-game point streak (2g, 2a), including a SHG on a penalty shot

- Pistilli had 3g, 5a last week, including a four-point night on Nov. 6 vs. ELM

Team Notes - The Blades raised $21,630 for the National Coalition for Patriots from their auction of this year's Military Appreciation jerseys. Mathieu Roy received the high bid of the night, with his jersey fetching $6,000 at auction. Matthew Pistilli's uni went for $1,000.

- 9,857 fans packed Germain Arena for Military Appreciation Weekend. Funds raised over the weekend went to benefit the National Coalition for Patriots and their work with US military veterans.

- The Blades have five SHG, which is tops in the ECHL.

- Florida has scored a PPG in every non-division game they've played so far.

- The second period has been the best so far for the Everblades, as they've outscored their opposition 17-11 in the middle frame and outshot them by a 140-75 margin.
