Komets Tangle with Visiting Thunder Again Tonight; K's Announce Player Moves

Fort Wayne, IN -- The Komets will face the visiting Wichita Thunder again tonight at 7:30 in the second of a home double-header. The Komets (17-18-5) opened the two-game series with a come-from-behind 5-4 shootout win Friday night at the Memorial Coliseum to extend their win string to four games. Wichita (23-15-4) kept their point streak alive at nine games (7-0-2).
Friday night's victory was Fort Wayne's first Friday home win of the season in seven appearances to date. Tab Lardner netted a pair to take a three-game goal and point-scoring streak (4 goals, 1 assist) into tonight's rematch. Derek Patrosso dished an assist and risks an eight-game assist and point-scoring streak (1 goal, 13 assists) tonight.
The Komets have won their last two shootouts and improved to 3-2 in the shootout with last night's win. Nick Boucher stoned all four Wichita shooters for his second straight shootout shutout.
Tonight's tilt will be the rubber match of the season with the series knotted at 1-1 after two meetings.
After tonight -- The Komets will be idle until Wednesday when they start a string of four games in five nights including three at home and one on the road. Wednesday the K's host Bloomington at 7:30pm and Quad City visits Friday at 8pm. Saturday the Komets head for Dayton to face the Gems at Hara Arena at 7:30pm. Sunday the Komets are home to face the Evansville IceMen at 5pm. Wichita returns home to host Rio Grande Friday and Bloomington Saturday before traveling to Mississippi Sunday.
KOMETS ANNOUNCE PLAYER MOVES
The Komets announced today that defenseman Danko Mironovic and center Neil Musselwhite have been activated from the injured reserve list and are expected to be in the lineup when the Komets host Wichita tonight. Center Chris Francis has been placed on 10-day I.R. and defenseman Keith Rodger has been placed on waivers.
COMCAST REPORT CARD NIGHT TONIGHT
The 2011 Comcast Report Card Night will be tonight as the Komets host Wichita at 7:30pm. Students with an "A" or "A equivalent" on a report card or teacher letter receives a free ticket to the game and Comcast makes a donation to the Literacy Alliance for every "A" student who attends.
