February 5, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Evansville IceMen News Release
EVANSVILLE, IN.--- The Evansville IceMen, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League and the league member club, Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, have announced on this date the new date for the re-scheduled game that was originally scheduled for Friday night, February 4th but was postponed due to the winter weather conditions plaguing Bossier City, Louisiana.
Through the re-scheduled date, the IceMen will be making a return trip to the Louisiana city as part of an expanded four-game road excursion on Wednesday, February 16th. The IceMen will clash with the Mudbugs in a 6:30 pm encore presentation with broadcast time set for 6:00 pm on the IceMen radio flagship home of WEOA-AM 1400 and on the world-wide internet at 1400amweoa.com.
Originally scheduled as a two-game series for Friday, February 4th and Saturday, Febru-ary 5th, this is the second time the Evansville/Bossier-Shreveport weekend series has been interrupted. The first re-scheduled game in the series occurred when the Saturday, Feb-ruary 5th contest was moved to Thursday night, February 3rd. In that played contest, the IceMen bowed to the Mudbugs, 5-1. It was the first-ever meeting between the two newly-created inter-conference rivals.
With this new re-scheduled road date, the IceMen now must face the daunting assignment of playing 8-games in 10-days, beginning Friday night, February 11th when they open a brief 2-games in 2-nights Swonder Ice Arena home stand against the Dayton Gems and on Saturday night against the Quad City Mallards. Both games are set for 7:30 pm
The remainder of the strenuous stretch will see the IceMen traveling to Fort Wayne, Sunday, February 13th; at Mississippi, Tuesday, February 15th; at Bossier-Shreveport, Wednesday, February 16th; at Tulsa, Friday, February 18th; then back home Saturday, February 19th against Bloomington and Sunday, February 20th hosting Missouri.
The IceMen have 23-games remaining on their regular season schedule with 11-more at home and 12-more games scheduled on the road.
