
Knights Sail Past Tides 17-5 on Friday Night

(NORFOLK, VA) -- The Charlotte Knights put together a remarkable offensive performance on Friday night and RHP Mike Wright was solid on the mound en route to the team's most impressive victory of the season.
Gavin Sheets and Mikie Mahtook launched mammoth home runs and Wright tossed seven effective innings to lead the Knights to a commanding 17-5 win over the Norfolk Tides in game four of the six-game series from Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA on Friday. The win was Charlotte's sixth of the season against the Tides.
Offensively, every player in the Charlotte lineup had at least one hit on the evening. In all, the Knights combined to record 25 hits on the night, their most of the season.
Sheets had a stunning day at the plate. He launched a two-run home run in the third inning and finished the night 4-for-6 with three runs scored, the home run and two RBIs. Brian Goodwin also had a four-hit game and added three RBIs on the night. The home run was his fourth of the season. He leads the team in RBIs with 18.
Additionally, Blake Rutherford, Tim Beckham and Marco Hernández had three hits apiece. Beckham also chipped in with three RBIs.
Wright (1-1, 2.74) allowed just two runs on five hits over seven innings en route to his first win of the season.
