
Knights Power Past Indians 8-4 Thursday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn launched two home runs and RHP Davis Martin shined over six shutout innings to lead the Charlotte Knights to an 8-4 win over the Indianapolis Indians on Thursday night from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The win was Charlotte's second in as many days.
Appearing in just his second rehab game of his assignment, Vaughn recorded a solo home run in the first inning to give the Knights an early 1-0 lead. Four innings later, the power-hitting outfielder roped his second home run of the game, a solo shot over the left field fence. In all, Vaughn reached base four times on the night.
Charlotte's solid offensive night also included a solo home run from shortstop Zach Remillard, his second of the season. Center fielder Mark Payton and first baseman Ryder Jones also chipped in with two hits apiece on the night.

Martin (2-0, 1.50) was sharp in his Truist Field debut on Thursday evening. The Texas native allowed just three hits over six scoreless innings to earn his second career Triple-A victory. He also walked just one batter and struck out four. RHP Kade McClure finished out the night with three innings of work out of the Charlotte bullpen to earn his first save of the season.
The Knights will continue the series on Friday night with first pitch of game four set for 7:04 p.m. from Truist Field.
