
Knights Fall to Tides 5-4 in Sunday's Finale

(NORFOLK, VA) -- The Charlotte Knights dropped the finale of the seven-game series against the Norfolk Tides by a score of 5-4 from Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA on Sunday night.
Charlotte RHP Lane Ramsey (0-4, 5.71) walked in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Tides the walk-off win. Pinch-runner Ryan Ripken scored the game-winning run when Richie Martin drew the walk. The Tides drew four walks in the inning without recording an out.
Three Charlotte batters homered in Sunday's game to lead the offense in the finale. Right fielder Micker Adolfo hit a solo home run in the second inning, his fifth of the season with the Knights and 21st overall in 2021 (hit 16 with Double-A Birmingham earlier this year).
Third baseman Jake Burger launched his 16th home run of the year with the Knights in the top of the fourth inning. One inning later, shortstop Matt Reynolds hit his fifth of the season.
LHP John Parke started the game for the Knights and gave up two runs on three hits over five innings of work. Parke walked two and struck-out four. He allowed a solo home run to Norfolk left fielder Robert Neustrom in the first inning. It was the first of two home runs on the day for Neustrom.
Despite the loss on Sunday, the Knights finished with a 4-3 record in the series against the Tides. Overall this season, the Knights are 17-13 against the Tides.
The Knights will now have an off day on Monday before opening up a six-game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp from Jacksonville, FL on Tuesday night.
